During the last week sermon, we talked about the "The Wrath of God" to give us a detailed insight into how God places his judgement and wrath over man because we see that, so many people are living a life of ignorance towards this and to be living in ignorance is the worst form of existence of any man. Knowledge in God is power and forms the basis of life. We also learnt that the wrath of God is an inevitable phenomenon in a believer's life if he must live to satisfy God and be in peace with him. We narrated the three basic principles as a prerequisite that must be duly satisfied before the manifestation of this wrath of God which everyone must be aware of. Please make sure you did not miss out on this great lecture.   

This week, we shall be looking at the topic: "A Vessel unto Honour" to study all its takes to become one because virtually everybody desire to be a vessel unto honour, to do great things and exhibit or manifest great power of God but the truth is that great things come with great responsibility and challenges and it is only those that has the strength for this quest that will be granted the privilege. We shall be looking into all the factors that can build up your strength to give the required ability for this, putting into consideration all the necessary prerequisite to achieve this. Please sit back and bucked up as we proceed for this great lecture that will change your life, only if you are committed to it through observing all scriptural verses and develop more on it. Introduction:

Everything in life either good or bad comes with a price to be paid and that price controlled the success. Consider you buying a car to drive and live a comfortable life with your family but before this, you must have worked severally to gather up the price of the car and even after purchase, you will need some part of your income to always maintain the car so it can last longer and be in good shape. We see that, there two things involved here, firstly, you must discipline yourself and commit all your effort to saving up money to meet the price tag for the purchase of the car, secondly, is to continually commit some part of your income for proper maintenance of the car. This is practically what God expect from you to meet up a certain standard for some level of exploit. You remember, in the case we narrated above, that you will need some discipline to be able to achieve your aim of getting that car and step up your comfortability, discipline in terms of reducing your expenses to be able to save for the vehicle. 

To be a vessel unto honour is also synonymous to this case of buying a car narrated above, but here, you are not buying a car but something more than a car and this is, POWER which will equally give you some level of spiritual exploit, which will also be needed for success in all things concerning God affair on earth and beyond. Power for a spiritual exploit is the basic ingredient that gives you the required enablement to achieve anything good on this planet. Enablement is the driving unseen forces behind every successful affair on earth, which is always in different category or strength. I have also detailed all these in the published book, you can request for one and your experience shall not remain the same.

Like the case of buying a car narrated above which requires some level of discipline to save for the price tag on the car and also the discipline to commit yourself for proper maintenance on the car and which therefore becomes the sacrifices to be made for actualising your goal of driving a car and living comfortably, Power for spiritual exploit also require some sacrifices which must be burned out of the passion for commitment and discipline for you to acquire it and for the proper maintenance to retain such level of empowerment not to diminishes or taken away because God doesn't give his power to be wasted. As we proceed, we shall be considering all factors involved to acquire this power for a spiritual exploit which will, therefore, give every required honour to man and how to properly maintain it, in other not to fall back or allow it to be taken away.

Honour doesn't come by chance, in fact, it must be won spiritually, since the world in its entirety is controlled by the affair in the realm of the spirit and the justifications from the law of good and bad, therefore no man has the power to give himself any reasonable amount of honour which could come either through blessing, riches, power or position and recognition, except God be with him, for it is only God that can give it and proportion it as he deemed fit, which could be based on the law of retribution as explained in previous week sermon. Though satan could also give honour by its limited magic power but the end is destruction and a curse (Exodus 20: 5-6, Hosea 4: 6) because God is going to place serious judgement both here on earth and after death on all the agent of satan whom he has been using to perpetrate evil. Satan gives honour to people in a croquettes way, so he can easily destroy them and brought them to a confrontation with God because he knows that the easiest way to get a man is to give him what he wanted and virtually every man always desire for this honour. 

This is why our Lord, Jesus Christ, always condemn the desire to seek all these worldly honour but to seek him first diligently with the whole of our heart, that this is all what the unbeliever usually run after and end up got themselves trapped by it, but your heavenly father knows you need them and he will make them available in the proportion he deemed fit will not jeopardise your heavenly race or his plan for you, and also that satan will not use it to trap you (Matthew 6: 31-34). 

The book of (Philippians 4: 6-7) also made it clear to buttress more on the passion for worldly desire, which states that do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request known to God, and the peace of God that transcend all understanding will guard your heart and your mind.

Beloved, this is practically how to live in peace on this earth, God is faithful and he will not drop you in the mud, when you serve him with your whole heart without putting all this first, then he will make it available to you, even without desiring for it because he knows what you will need even before you come to the realisation that you need them.

A vessel unto Honour:

Our bible text above (2 Timothy 2: 20-21 KJV) make us understand that, but in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver but also of wood and of earth, and some to honour and some to dishonour, if a man, therefore purges himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified and meet for the master's use and prepared unto every good work.

There are four basic things to learn from the above scripture, which I will be treating each of them below for a proper understanding on this subject: 

1. Those that are vessel unto honour of gold and silver:

We all know that gold and silver are very rich precious stone with a great value anywhere in the world, in fact, it is just like crude oil when found and this is why the bible uses it as qualifying for a vessel unto honour. This, therefore, means that every vessel unto honour are very precious people, even in God's hand and God doesn't joke with them because they carry much of God's glory and most time God uses them as a messenger to show forth his glory to impact their world positively and to bring people into his kingdom. This set of people might be created from birth with this endowment or they purge themselves to become a vessel unto honour and they are also the major target of satan, in fact, he can destroy so many souls to have one of them put under him. We remember he went to test Jesus that he will give him the whole world, if he can bow to him (Matthew 4: 8-11) and the truth is that as at that time satan was testing him, he (Satan) had the whole world to himself because he was the ruler until Jesus paid the price of the sin that had trapped man with him which is death (1 John 2: 2).

Do not be deceived, people are not created the same, just like your fingers are not equal. The creation power of God has no respect for any man, but it works better with nature on the principle of retribution, that is, whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall also reap (Galatians 6: 7). This law is so strong that no man has the power to escape it, no matter how powerful he is in the spiritual because the backbone of the law which forms the fundamental part of it is God himself and you will have to contend wth him (God) if you try to escape it. This justifies the fact that if a man is so wicked in his present world, the children after him might also take part of the punishment depending on the weight of his deed (Exodus 20: 5-6, Hosea 4: 6).

God himself, might select and create some people with some endowment of glory, so that they can be his ambassador on earth to show forth what they have received to the whole world and help the less privilege, because he (God) loves the poor (Proverb 19: 17, Psalm 41: 1-3) and so, he is sending them as an angel of comfort to those around them. This means that, if you see any man of God that has no passion for the poor, then God is not dwelling in him. But is God unjust for making some people with much glory and while some people come like a beggar? The answer is capital NO. 

Like i said above, the creation power of God has been set down like a formula, which is control by nature available to both the good and the bad and God might not even need to disturb himself about it, except there is a serious case that he needs to attend to, either by sending a saviour to rescue a certain generation or to intercept in man relationship on earth when the need arise. There are so many generational human factors that control the glory and status of men that are being sent back to the world which i have treated majorly in my previous published book, titled (why do people and why does God allow it). But the good thing is that, when those that are of lesser endowment submit to God and purge themselves accordingly, then they will also be a vessel unto honour (2 Timothy 2: 20).

God, can also act in this regard as the big man sited upon the throne to specially send his angel as a human form to deliver his oppressed people and nobody can stand in their way because God will be permanently with them. Satan who loves to steal the glory of God in men, usually covet the creation power of God to empower people and sent them into the world to steal, destroy and kill, even from birth. So you see, God is always innocent, never to be blamed and he is usually in the business of saving and delivering the oppressed of the devil. It is the human factor (deed, character, attribute) and relationship with the devil that brings about the discrepancies observed in the glory of men. This is why in every situation, you must endeavour to always thank God and praise him as this is the will of God in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5: 18).

Now let's consider the illustration above for buying a car to live comfortably, narrated under the introduction and link it to our discussion in this regard. We will realise that there are people that will be opportune to get that particular car without much stress or discipline of any nature toward their income while there are some that might not be opportune but will struggle to discipline themselves to buy it. This imply that those that are vessel unto honour either from birth or through purging themselves, as we have read above carry much glory of God and things work out for them easily than others, that is, where others will be struggling to survive or having some difficulties, they found it easy to scale through because of the enablement that has been spoken into their creation or that has been giving to them after purging as the case maybe. Remember we said, enablement is the driving unseen forces behind every successful affair on this earth which usually comes with a seal of covenant sometimes, especially for those that are created with it. God himself is the one that will fight their battle and make them succeed except the one that is doom to destruction through constant disobedience to God commandments. Even if this category of people that are vessels unto honour had to suffer for anything here on this earth, they are only suffering for God, so that they can show forth his glory and therefore the suffering will turn out to recover lost glory for them only if it is being done with reference to God.  

2. Those that are vessel unto dishonour of wood and earth:

We all know that wood and earth though essential commodity but cheaply available and it doesn't cost much at all and also their availability is at a very high rate and very common in everywhere around the world, unlike the gold and diamond which is costly available and cannot just be found in anywhere. This is why the bible uses this qualification for a vessel unto dishonour because it is cheaply available at the very low cost and which form the majority. The truth is that the wood and earth are very essential commodity around the world but the cheap availability devalued it essence compare to that of gold and diamond. The idea behind this logical figurative speech used in the bible verse above is to compare the two vessels in terms of the value of their empowerment in God, that will equally give the grace necessary for spiritual exploit and therefore sharpen and bring out the glory of God in them. Empowerment through God that will show forth their glory to become a vessel unto honour is costly available because it required some prices or sacrifices to be paid, and this is why the bible verse above relate it to be gold and silver since these materials are also costly available, and as it is, not all vessels will be able to pay such sacrifices but God can give grace to those he love to strengthen them for such hurdle task and end up becoming what he want them to be. Usually the majority of this category of people that are vessel unto dishonour are the once that are still not holding closely to God, either they are not standing firm with God or they are far from him because the truth is that those that really know their God and stands firmed with him shall do exploit (Daniel 11: 32b).

A vessel unto dishonour does not mean they are useless or incapable, in fact, without them there won't be anything like vessel unto honour. Like i said above, the bible verse we read, qualify them to be a vessel unto dishonour because they are less empowered since honour could only come through empowerment or grace which will, therefore, give the necessary enablement for such exploit. Satan also can give people his limited form of empowerment that will equally give them some level of spiritual exploit which they will be using to steal, kill and destroy those that have refused to serve God wholeheartedly, so as to satisfy the desire of their master (Devil) but to everyone who is allowing satan to use them will receive serious judgement from God both here on earth and after death.

Beloved, do not be deceived, for any good thing or honour that may come to a man in any regard in this life, whether spiritual or physical must carry some background tone of empowerment which will, therefore, enable him for such exploit, and except this, the fellow goes nowhere. There are certain factors that are responsible for a lesser empowerment in every vessel of dishonour which could either be generational, foundational, or self-induce. All these I have treated in my previous published book, you can request for a full copy and develop the knowledge that will change your entire life.

Another thing to note is that because of this justified predicament that the vessels unto dishonour are being subjected to, the devil use it as a claim or right to hold them in control and this is why most of them find it very difficult to purge themselves, as our bible text has earlier prescribe as the only criteria to be a vessel unto honour (2 Timothy 2: 20). This category of people that are vessels unto dishonour will either have their destiny short-change or stolen by the devil or might be facing the result of their deed but in any which way, there is a chance available to them to purge themselves of all these things and become a vessel unto honour. May the lord grant you grace for a deeper knowledge on this, in Jesus name.

3. Purging yourself to become a vessel unto honour of gold and silver:

Purging to become a vessel unto honour has some sacrifices and require a deep knowledge of God and except you are aware of this, you might still be going around the same point. There are many believers that, though they are serving God, know him by his world but are still unable to do exploit. Spiritual exploits are the basic ingredients for becoming a vessel unto honour (spiritual or physical) because the devil and his cohort will try all their possible best not to allow that to happen. I will list out most of the ways you can achieve this in order of priority.

i. Be empowered 

ii. Allowing the light to shine.

iii. Sanctification

iv. Be responsible for others

v. Consecrate your body as holy unto the lord

vi. Dead in worldly gain or desire

4. To be sanctified and meet for the master's use and prepare unto every good work.

Maintaining the flow:

To maintain the flow and remain within the level of the ascribed empowerment is a very important aspect and this depends on your ability to continually let the light shine and be responsible for others because to whom much is given, much is expected (Luke 12: 48b). Even anointing works on this principle and the moment you refuse to share the light or allow it flow, it will automatically stop and taken from you. Our lord, Jesus Christ, is speaking in the book of (Mathew 5: 14-15) that you are the light of the world and a city built on a hill cannot be hidden, neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Beloved, this is one of the major function and requirement of becoming a vessel unto honour because God's power is not for idle men, just like the way you work and put in effort to earn credit in your secular job, that is exactly how you will work to earn God's power that will then give you grace for every necessary exploit. May the good lord give you the require grace for a deeper knowledge on this in Jesus name.

Conclusion:

Now that you know all it takes to become a vessel unto honour, then you have no excuse any longer because the ball is in your court and as you play it, so your success shall be. There is nobody that will carry the great power of God and be a great man that will not go through all these processes and so I will advice you to start learning now that you know and work out your future for yourself. May the lord bless you abundantly.

Confession:  

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour and you are convinced that you need him to come into your life so you can also tap into the grace available through shedding of his blood, and equally partake of the effectiveness of his wrath and the blessing that comes with it, and that you are sure, you are ready to repent from all those sin of fornication, adultery, lying, sexual immorality, pride, jealousy, hatred, idolatry, selfish ambition, witchcraft, impurity and debauchery, dissensions, envy, drunkenness, orgies and the likes, then locate a quiet place, be sober and be on your knees, and make this little confession but remember to be sure of what you are doing, so that you will not be using God to play, when you respect him and give him honour, he will also honour you in the sight of men (Matthew 6: 6).

Lord Jesus, i come with total humbleness of heart to ask for forgiveness of my sins and accept you as my lord and saviour, please forgive me of all my sin (you can begin to name them if you know them) I surrender my life to you and i want you to come and take full charge over my life and i accept you as my lord and my saviour, please cleanse me with your blood that you shed on the cross and make me a new man leaving old things behind, I promise to serve you and do your will at all time and i ask for the strength to carry on. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for saving me.
